The Mansion History

The Mansion at Glen Cove was designed in 1910 by renowned architect, Charles Adams Platt. He was commissioned by John Pratt, an attorney, and executive with the Rockefeller family’s Standard Oil Company. Pratt was one of scores of wealthy Americans who built grand country estates at the turn-of-the-century, with acres of landscaped grounds.

The Mansion at Glen Cove, originally The Manor, is also a movie star, used several times as a location in big Hollywood productions, and is one of the very first conference center hotels in the United States.
